Leslie Holmes - Pre-Concert Talk

BACA members find musical inspiration in many genres. You'll love Leslie's talk. They are extremely well-prepared, interesting and fun. The concerts sell out so be sure to get your tickets early and arrive early to park.

The Season Finale concert starts at 3 :00pm at the MassBay Co mmunity College, 50 Oakland Street, Wellesley and is followed by a reception.

Will McMillian - Sings Judy & Yip
(Featuring what BACA members are up to..) 

Performer, songwriter and teacher Will McMillan shares two concerts with us.

Sat., April 25, 2:00 pm, Will McMillan with Joe Reid on piano perform "You Made Me Love You" at the Brighton Public Library, 40 Academy Hill Rd., Brighton, 617-782-6032, Free. 

Will and Joe will perform Judy Garland songs and share a few stories about the ups and downs of her extraordinary life.
 
Sun., May 3, 11:0 0 am, Will McMillan with Molly Ruggles on piano perform "The Gospel According To Yip" at the  Unitarian Universalist Church Of Medford, 147 High St., Medford, Free and open to the public.
 
Will and Molly will share many songs with lyrics by Yip Harburg as well as a few stories about Yip's life as an advocate for social justice. 

This community is very welcoming and loves to sing. We'd be delighted if you can join us.
St. Louis Cabaret Conference
July 11 - 19 

heads up that the St. Louis Cabaret Conference is happening July 11 - 19 . It offers 3 distinct tracks of learning, provides multiple performance opportunities, breakout sessions, an advisory panel of industry professionals, and personalized coaching!

Greetings!

A big shout out to John O'Neil and Jan Peters of the Napoleon Room at Club Cafe (see article below). The historic Napoleon Club Piano Lounge has been reborn in Boston's Club Café.

We so  appreciate the support John and Jan show us and congratulate them on the success of the biggest cabaret venue around. Come enjoy my favorite place in 
town and Boston's home for cabaret.  And, come see me there Tuesday April 7th! Thanks, Jim

Napoleon Room at Club Cafe, Boston Highlight

The Napoleon Room at Club Cafe is Boston's only dedicated cabaret room, offering live music and entertainment almost every night of the week. 

Early in the week , John O'Neil produces Josephine's Cabaret Series of Singers from all over the area. There are regularly scheduled performers Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday nights. Friday and Saturday night featuring a variety of top-notch performers. Occasionally, there is a 12-3 p.m. Sunday show along with the delicious all-you-can-eat buffet that is available every Sunday.

Louise Alexandra Releases Her New Album

Sunday, April 26,  Louise Alexandra (fka Louise Van Aarsen) is coming to Boston to release her new album at The Mad Monkfish, 524 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge (Central Square), 617-441-2116  backed by a fabulous trio of Paul McWilliams, Martin Vasquez, and Fernando Huergo! 

The album has all new songs (mostly original, some standards), and some under the loving and inspiring direction of our dearly missed Rebecca Parris.

Phil Kassel Performs "Reminiscences" at Club Cafe

Tuesday, April 14, 8:00 pm, Phil Kassel performs his new show "Reminiscences" at Club Café with Michael Larson on piano and Matt Cregor on guitar. 

"Reminiscences" features an eclectic mix of styles and songs that look backward with fondness or regret on life's wonders and downfalls.

Len Abram - Book published, "Empty Doorways"

You may think the creative spirit among BACA members is for music only, but not so. Our members have many talents. 

New member, Len Abram's novel, Empty Doorways, came out December 9. It's a crime story set in Boston and is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

And, in July and August she is performing some pre-shows at the Xfinity Center for Rod Stewart and the Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald.
